Chuck Jones Life

Without Toon Town's biggest celebrities as fan's, Chuck Jone's life story might never have been told. But with big names like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the Road Runner Beep Beeping him on with words of encouragement, Charles Martin Jones injected his own life situations into his Looney Tunes Stories.
Although his father was reportedly abusive, which was a theme in some of the cartoons, he kept the stories upbeat. At least this was true for the viewer, although I'm sure Sam the Coyote (Wyle E's cousin?) felt a darker mood present whenever sheepdog Ralph caught him snatching sheep.
‘If we can make ourselves laugh, we can make other people laugh. We weren’t trying to focus on a demographic. We weren’t being told we had to make something for 3- to 5-year-olds.'-Charles M. Jones 1912-2002

Chuck Jones: Memory of a
Childhood,” is a documentary about the Warner Bros. animator who introduced the world to shorts such as “Duck Amuck,” “One Froggy Evening” and “What’s Opera, Doc?
Turner Classic Movies is airing this documentary, and if one is to truly talk of classics in Television and Movies, one has to include the classic works of director Chuck Jones.

Obama On Tonite Show - A Presidential First

Actually it will be a first for a sitting american president as well as a first for The Tonite Show when President Barack Obama joins Jay Leno as Jay's guest.

The president did appear way back when he was a senator running for president, and it is indeed refreshing to see him go on again now. So many elected officials tend to forget what got them elected in the first place when they were running.

Former President Bill Clinton made a guest appearance after he was elected as well as Jimmy Carter. Show ratings soared for the appearances.

For trivia buffs, Ronald Regan appeared on Johnny Carson's 10th anniversary show, however, he wasn't president at the time. Several presidential candidates have appeared while they were running but this will mark's a historical first.

No doubt President Obama is trying to lighten the mood of a sagging economy, as no big announcement is anticipated.
The show will tape earlier in the day and the President will be able to watch himself back at The White House by the time it airs Thursday Night.

SLAINTE-GO IRISH OR GO HOME!

Green foamy Guiness, 4 Leaf Clovers and Shamrock shakes rule the day. Media frenzy and commercialism abound all year round and St. Patrick's Day is no exception. Whether your Irish or not you probably looked for something green in your wardrobe to put on today.

In an age where so many people are (almost) painfully health conscious and food aware, it seems like sheer madness to proclaim raise a mug of green beer and yell Slainte. This Irish saying cheers your good health and is pronounced slan-tay. Now remember that is coming from a land of people who truly believe that God invented drinking so that the Irish wouldn't rule the world.

The Irish buzz only last a day or two-some start celebrating early and carry on for days-but every year the holiday grows a little larger as merchants hope to increase their bottom line. This predictable trend cannot be overlooked for that very reason and one other: If you can't have a drink while your living, how the hell can ya drink while yer dead?

Google Grand Central

Google Grand Central, Grand Central, Google Voice or whatever you want to call it. Only time will tell what name sticks. (ed, note: I still call the trailer court where I used to live back in Mackenzie, BC BCFP Trailer park and its changed hands at least a dozen time. ) The advantages to having this all in one system are plenty.
Google Voice offers you a single phone number to ring your home, mobile phones, work, a central voicemail inbox that is accessible from all over the Web and call screening capabilities. One of the biggest main advantages of such a service is that your Google Voice phone number can act as your master phone number - allowing you to program it on the fly to forward calls to whatever existing phone numbers you have. Now just how cool is that? Will it become as 'Must Have' as Barrack Obama's Blackberry? (A Canadian product by the way). Only time will tell, as well as how many companies try to jump on board with copy cat systems. I think you will be seeing and hearing alot more from Google Voice in the coming months.

Jonas Brothers World Tour Dates

You can't ignore the popularity of the Jonas Brothers World Tour. They've just announced the "Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009" and will team up with American Idol Jordin Spark -at least on a few dates-around the globe. If Mom and Dad want to score points with the kids, then polish up your ticket finding skills. When The Eagles announced a single date in Newbrunswick, Eastern Canada, 2 entire search pages of Ebay were filled with people hawking primo tickets.

Yes, that was primarily driven by the baby boomer market, but the fact is that The Jonas Brothers share a popularity equal to or greater than The Beatles did in the 1960's, but shear fan volume alone is going to see these young men win that debate. Song Quality...Okay, that's a different subject.

Go here for a complete list of Jonas Brothers World Tour Dates.
